Editorial Board members

I'll be making edits to this post as we add a few more members, but I thought it would be good for you all to know who is a part of this group.  Frankly, I'm very happy with the composition of the group–we've got a great mix of people with industry experience in print, broadcast and online, we've got representation from several countries and four continents and we've got a mix of scholars with different specialties from small, medium and large schools.  That diversity will come in very handy, as I expect that we'll be getting very diverse submissions.

Thanks again, one and all, for agreeing to serve on this board.  Please let me know if there are any errors in omissions, names, affiliations, etc.  And, let me know via email if there others who you think would be great additions to the board.

Bob, this is an impressive group, and I'm humbled to be among them. There's much work ahead, but in looking at your email again, I'm struck by your title as professor of Journalism and Integrated Media.

What if this journal is called JIM: Journal of Integrated Media?

Again, just the thought of a former headline writer ...

Nice possibility! However, there might be confusion between us and the Integrated Media Association, which is not really journalism: http://www.integratedmedia.org/home.cfm.

And perhaps a risk of sliding into the territory of "New Media and Society".

Someone (I think) has also pointed out that there is a planning risk here, since I think our collective position is that what is integrating today is destined to become a singularity sooner than we think, dating the name of our journal.

So I think "convergent journalism" is still where we are.

Anyway, what would the character count be, with so many capitals, in today's tabloid layouts? Your American papers are so much skinnier than our's too! :-)

It is an impressive list and an honour to be among you all.

I like Jody's suggestion but can understand why it could be confusing.

We recently renamed our core course at the UBC j-school as Integrated Journalism to reflect the way journalism and media is changing and silos are crumbling.

So how about Journal of Integrated Journalism? This would set up apart as a fresh publication and avoid confusion with other publications using the word convergence.

That's a fantastic group. My first name is misspelled, but it's not like I can flunk you for that. :-)
